~RiDgE is ONE~

Ridge celebrated his first birthday on September 10. He had been sick so we had a family dinner on Sunday the 12th. It was super yummy, Zach cooked dutch oven chicken and potatoes and we had a few salads.
Here is the cake that I threw together at the last minute.

He was checking it out......

He decided it was pretty good

I don't think I have ever seen a baby eat sooo much in one setting, I'm surprised he didn't get sick.

He got a four wheeler and he was super excited!! If you can't tell he is getting 3 molars right now and is drowling a ton!

He is such a great kid, we don't know what we would do without him. He brings a smile to our face everyday and he is such a joy in our family. We love you Ridgee!!

I just had to throw this picture in because it was cute of him opening some of his presents. Thanks to everyone that came to share this special day with us!!

Ryder's First day of PrEsChoOl

Zach and I were back and forth about Ryder going to preschool this year because he is only 3 and he has two years before Kindergarten. But after the girls were back in school for about 3 days it was clear to me that he needed something to do besides play(beat on) Ridge. We decided that preschool would be good for him. He was so excited!! The first day I yelled down the stairs "We need to get you ready for school." He responded that he was already ready for school. I told him to come here and this is what I saw: When I told him that was not ready for school, he was still in his pajamas and that you can't take guns and hats to school, he told me he wanted to quit school and be a hunter! Oh, I don't know where this kid comes from. He was serious too. I had to bribe him with caps for his cap gun to get him to go!!

Here he is going in to Miss Milei's preschool!! I told him to open his eyes and he said that he was smiling and his eyes have to be closed when he smiles, so this is what you get. LOL

Lucky for him there is guns at his school!! He had a great first day and has been super excited about it since. I sure do love this little boy. There is not an hour that goes by that he doesn't make me smile!!

Back to school (already)

School started for the girls on Aug 19th. Saydee was so excited, she has been counting down the days all summer long. She loves school!! She is in Mrs. Bess' 2nd grade class this year and is excited to learn all she can and work on her reading. The night before school she was just talking and talking and talking about everything she was going to do and finally we said Saydee settle down and she said I Am just so Excited. She loves life and wants to do everything so possibly can. We love you Saydee and we are so Proud of you!!

Skylar on the other hand is ready to drop out of school, she gets so nervous for change. She is in Mrs. Armstrong's first grade class and she thinks she is really nice but after the first day said she is quitting school because it is too long. She has no time to go shopping or watch TV, it is dinner time when she gets home. When I asked her what her 5 favorite things for the day were she said She loves sitting in a desk, she likes eating lunch at school, she liked the books that Mrs. Armstrong reads to them, and they got an otter pop at recess. The second day I asked her what her 5 favorite things were and she said she had 20 favorite things!! I am so glad that she is getting more comfortable. I just love my girls!! They are so different in so many ways but they are both such a joy in my life and I love being their mom!! Skylar sitting at her desk doing her bell work

The girls wanted to ride the bus so we followed in the van.

Adoption

We have had Echo here in Cedar with us for awhile and it has been fun for the kids to be able to ride more often. Even Ridge has enjoyed it. Sometimes Echo looks a little lonely for his horse friends he left in St. George. He always has liked company. BUT
I didn't know that we were looking to adopt, while I was working on Saturday, Zach thought it would be fun for the kids to go see the wild horses at the BLM Wild horse adoption. The kids loved it, balloons, posters, keychains and what do you know they talked dad into adopting a horse!! This is our new baby!!

He doesn't have a name yet, any suggestions??? Ryder suggested Thunder because it was such a rainy day yesterday.
