I LOVE MY LIFE!!!

Do you ever just have a day that you just think to yourself "It doesn't get any better than this?" I have totally been loving being a mom lately. Yes it is a ton of work but my kids just crack my up.
Today I went to pick Skylar up from preschool and her teacher told me she had tried to call me. She said Skylar was sitting at the rug and she had noticed that Skylar kept playing with her nose. The teacher called her up and asked her what was wrong. Skylar said she was trying to smell a rock when they were outside and it just shot up her nose. She was completely calm and the teacher got the school nurse to help her get it out. When the teacher was telling me about this Skylar walked up and asked "Don't you want to know what it smelt like mom?" I said yes, she said it smells like daisies.

Since we have been home she has named the rock (because of course they saved it) and made a home for it. The name she picked was Daisy, how fitting!!

Ryder made me laugh once again last night when I asked him to pick up his blocks and put them in the plastic bin. I look over and he is sitting in the bin with the lid on his head saying won't fit mom. He is such a funny kid!!

Yesterday Ryder made me laugh. He was yelling help mom help and so I went downstairs to see what he needed. He was in the hall with pink sunglasses, his dolphin hat and his stick horse and could not get through because Skylar had put her tent up in the middle of the hallway. He just looked so funny.

It is so fun to be a mom and I love almost every minute of it. I just cannot imagine what life would be like without the joy of my kids. They are worth every mess, every fit, every sleepless night and anything else that comes my way!!!

Happy Birthday Zach!!

OK so I did start this post on Zach's birthday 3 days ago, but it is not getting posted until today. SORRY HONEY! (He doesn't read our blog very often anyway!!)

Today is Zach's birthday!!! His birthday always seems to come so quickly after Christmas and most times he doesn't even get a present from me. This morning Saydee wanted to wake up extra early (she is always up by 6:30) to make him a cake in her easy bake oven. She got it made and frosted it and put in a green candle and woke him up singing happy birthday. Skylar and Saydee had wrapped a present for him last night and to our surprise it was his childhood stuffed animal "Mouse Sherratt" The girls also made him some cards.

We had pretty fun day. We took a banana cream pie to Zach at work. After work we went to St. George to go eat at the Texas Roadhouse with Zach's parents. It was really really busy and crazy. Zach's mom told the waitress that it was his birthday and they had him sit on a little saddle while they sang and yelled about him. It was so funny and he was sooo imbarrased. I don't have the pictures so I will post them later.
I asked the kids some of their favorite things about dad and this is what they said.
~~Saydee likes it when he takes her on a date to the SUU girls basketball game. She likes it when he surprises her with doughnuts and chocolate milk.
~~Skylar likes it when he takes her to school and volunteers at her school. She likes him to take her to her secret spot.
~~Ryder loves to do anything with his dad. He loves to drive in the truck and get out his binos and look at bucks.
They are so lucky to have such a great dad!! You are such a fun dad and do so many fun things with the kids. Spotlighting, Breakfast at the Market Grill, Secret Spots and so much more.
You are a great husband, friend and partner too. We have so much fun together and I am so excited to spend the rest of our lives together. I couldn't ask for anyone better.
~Happy Birthday Babe!!~

OnE YeAr AgO

Well it was one year ago yesterday that my little Skylar broke her leg. Let me tell you it seems like it was forever ago, but at the time I thought it would never end. Every year in January she does something to make life interesting. 3 years ago she had RSV. 2 years ago she had Pneumonia and then last year she spiral fractured her femur. How you ask? Oh just running around a corner and she twisted it. We didn't see it but that is what she says happened. We pray everyday that this January we will break the trend and just have a normal month.

Ok so this picture is Easter last year but I can not find the CD that has the pictures of the first days of this nightmare. She was flat on her back and had to be turned every 4 hours for the first month or 6 weeks. Her cast went up past her belly button, all the way to her toes on her broken leg and to her knee on the good leg. This was Skylar at my mom and Kents annual easter egg hunt. She got her cast off the day after Easter. She was a pretty good sport!!

Christmas Eve (out of order)

On Christmas Eve we got to go over to Zach's Grandma and Grandpa Hiskeys for the evening. It was so fun to be with them and Zach's parents and Aunt Bertha and Uncle Craig. There was more food there than I had ever seen in my life and everything had Cream Cheese in it. We were told that we were in charge of the program, so I thought I would just do the same program I had done with my family. One problem was that there were only my 3 kids so Zach had an idea.... Skylar could be Mary and Ryder could be Joseph and He would be a donkey!! Saydee was a beautiful angel. It turned out pretty cute. Ryder was totally into it. He lead the donkey around the room as we sang and read the story of the birth of Christ. Saydee and Skylar sang Picture a Christmas at the end and it was so neat to see the kids get into it and understand the meaning of Christmas.
